Representatives of the Secretary of the EU-Russia Civil Society Forum visited Warsaw


Przedstawiciele społecRepresentatives of the civil society from the European Union, countries of the Eastern Partnership and Russia have to start to work with each other. This is especially important in the current, complicated political situation

A meeting took place in the IPA with representatives of the Secretary of the EU-Russia Civil Society Forum on Monday the 22nd of September. Barbara von Freytag and Anna Sevortian were talking about the beginning of the Forum, the current functioning of this platform and the plans for the future. The Forum currently brings together around 70 members from member states of the EU and Russia. The Institute of Public Affairs takes part in the works of the Forum since 2013.

Representatives of Polish research organisations took part in the meeting. There have been representatives of organisations, which are already members of the Forum as well as experts from organisations, which have not joined yet the platform but show interest for the effects of the work of the Forum. With Anna Sevortian and Barbara von Freytag discussed representatives of Grupa Zagranica, Kolegium Europy Wschodniej im. Jana Nowaka-Jeziorańskiego, Common Europe Foundation, Sieci obywatelska – Watchdog, KARTA Centre, Polish Academy of Science, Liberal Culture, Unia&Polska Foundation and IPA. 

During the visit in Warsaw, which lasted three days (22 -24 September), the members of the Secretary of the Forum also attended a series of individual meetings in the Ministery of Foreign Affairs, in the Centre of Polish-Russian  Dialogue and Understanding, International Solidarity Foundation and the Polish-Ukrainian Cooperation Foundation PAUCI.
