Ukrainian students in Poland. Motivations, benefits, challenges

Download
Despite Poland’s lack of a comprehensive up-to-date migration strategy coordinated with a policy of internationalizing higher education, the number of Ukrainian students coming to the country is constantly on the rise. Young people from Ukraine are coming to Poland because of the lower costs of living and studying and the better prospects for finding a job in this country. Institutions of higher education, especially private ones, have devised their own campaigns to attract Ukrainian students to Poland. Nevertheless, Poland still has much to do in order to make living and studying in Poland easier for foreign students – especially for young Ukrainians. The existing procedures do not always work in practice, whereas it is in the interest of the Polish labor market to attract qualified young people.
