The News: End of the corner shop?

The News: Poles are becoming more pessimistic, writes Rzeczpospolita, quoting a survey by a pollster CBOS. As many as 55 percent of Poles think that things are getting worse in Poland, which is seven percentage points more than in the previous month. “Poles are more pessimistic because of constant rows on the political stage, with the Smolensk air disaster in the background, and because of economic situation, mainly price hikes,” writes the daily. Jacek Kucharczyk from the Institute of Public Affairs stresses that, in general, Poles are rather pessimistic.
