The East is better than Home – Russians on Russia, Poland and Germany – Presentation of Research Results

The Institute of Public Affairs and the Foundation of Polish-German Cooperation invite you to the presentation of the results of the newest survey concerning the perception of Poland and Poles as well as Germany and Germans in Russia.

The East is better than Home – Russians on Russia, Poland and Germany
Presentation, 2nd of March (Friday), at 10.00,
Institute of Public Affairs, ul. Szpitalna 5 lok. 22, Warsaw

How do Russians perceive their country? What do they think about free speech in Russia and the care for the average citizen? In the eyes of its citizens, is Russia important on the international political arena? How do Russians see Poles and Germans? How do they evaluate the bilateral relations with those countries? Do they see danger in Poland and Germany? Or maybe, they think that we impede their cooperation with the EU, USA, Ukraine and other countries from the Commonwealth of Independent States?

Two days before the Presidential election in Russia, we invite you to the presentation, during which we will present the results of the survey concerning the perception of Poland and Poles as well as Germany and Germans in Russia. The survey results indicate how Russians perceive their country and reveal their thoughts on the situation in Poland and Germany.

Recent events in Russia have shown that part of the Russian society is more and more against the political status quo in which this country is ruled by Vladimir Putin and his “United Russia”. On the other hand, Putin’s policy still finds support among many Russian citizens who will surely vote for him.

Can this divergence of opinion be seen during the attempt to evaluate the home country and its relations with Poland and Germany?

Programme of the presentation:

10.00 Welcome talk – dr Andrzej Grajewski (FWPN) and dr Jacek Kucharczyk (ISP)
10.05 Presentation of the results – dr Agnieszka Łada
