Networks, Norms, and the Rule of Law: Mutual Interactions

NET-ROL Voices is a podcast series developed within the Horizon Europe project NET-ROL (Networks and the Rule of Law: Uncovering Socio-Economic Outcomes), in which the Institute of Public Affairs participates as a project partner.

The series presents the conceptual foundations, analytical framework, and ongoing research of the project. Each episode features conversations with project researchers and partners, focusing on key research questions, methodological approaches, and empirical directions.

The NET-ROL project examines the rule of law as a multidimensional phenomenon shaped by the interaction between networks, informal institutions (such as norms and values), and socio-economic processes. By combining perspectives from law, economics, and political science, the project aims to better understand how these interactions influence the persistence and deterioration of the rule of law across contexts.

The first episode, “Networks, Norms, and the Rule of Law: Mutual Interactions, features Nadia von Jacobi (University of Trento) in conversation with Kacper Dziekan (Institute of Public Affairs) and introduces the main elements of the project’s analytical framework.

Episodes are hosted by members of the NET-ROL consortium and are available on Spotify:
