Place:
Centrum Konferencyjne Zielna, Zielna Street 37, Warszawa

fNegotiations on the future multi-annual budget of the European Union are ongoing and will influence the upcoming election campaign to the European Parliament.

Negotiations on the future multi-annual budget of the European Union are ongoing and will influence the upcoming election campaign to the European Parliament. Different opinions on its shape differ not only between Member States, but also between EU institutions. Discussions revolve around the division of expenditure into individual policies and the planned revenues, and Poland may be affected by the proposed dependence of EU funds on the observance of the rule of law.

We invite you to a debate with the participation of a representative of the Polish government, a German Member of the European Parliament and a Polish Member of the Sejm, during which we will reflect:
  • How will the EU budget after 2020 differ from the current one?
  • What changes are expected by the European Parliament and what changes are expected by the Polish government?
  • What will be the most important battles during the beginning of the election campaign to the European Parliament?
  • Should EU funds be conditional on respect for the rule of law?
We invite you to the next debate in the series Questions about Europe!

In the debate will take part:

Marek Belka, former Prime Minister, former President of the Polish National Bank
Jens Geier, Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Budgets, Member of the European Parliament, Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats, Germany
