What is local community organising?
This is a method of working with the community. It is a process orientated towards changing social reality. Its aim is to create networks of cooperation and local structures that strengthen the potential of the community, as well as supporting its ability to solve various problems. When organising the local community, it is important to have an action plan based on the direct needs and experiences of members of the community. Both belief in the development of the potential of the resources of each individual and in the power of cooperation are important. The basic idea is to support and enable members of the community to exercise control over their own lives and participate in taking decisions which concern them directly.
Participants in the training:
We invite Poles as well as EU citizens and third country nationals living in Poland to take part in the training.
The training will be conducted in English.
We only accept applications from people who commit to participate in both days of the training. Training participants are also invited to an evening debate titled “Nothing about us without us. A debate about politics, elections and emigration”, which will be held at Galeria Apteka Sztuki, al. Wyzwolenia 3/5 in Warsaw at 18:30. One of the important topics of debate will be using community organising methods within the framework of various forms of political activity.

- will learn what it is and how to actively apply the method of community organising through various social actions;
- will gain key knowledge and skills that are necessary for effective mobilization of the community, identification of its problems and appropriate responses to its needs;
- will draw up a work plan aimed at implementing the acquired knowledge and skills in relation to the situation of the members of the community which they represent;
- will have an opportunity to establish contacts and exchange experiences with activists from abroad.
