EPIN is a network of dynamic think tanks and policy institutes focusing on current EU and European political and policy debates. It is a comprehensive network with more than 25 member thinktanks in 21 countries, including almost all the EU member states and accession and candidate countries. EPIN aims to contribute to the debate on the Future of Europe through up to the minute, expert analysis and commentary and through providing easy access to understanding the different national debates.
The Network of Democracy Research Institutes is an association of organizations that conduct research on democracy, democratization, and related topics in comparative government and international affairs. Included in the Network are independent institutions, university-based study centers, and research programs affiliated with political parties, labor unions, and democracy and human rights movements, and other organizations.
The members of the network are drawn from the thirty-five member-countries of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership (EMP), the European Union's comprehensive policy for its relations with the Southern Mediterranean region.
There are currently forty-eight member-institutes, twenty-four observer institutes and two international associate members. The network's membership is designed to reflect the national composition of the EMP and its objective of ensuring equality between the members within the Partnership. EuroMeSCo functions both as an official confidence-building measure within the EMP and as a source of analytical expertise in the policy and security fields with which it is concerned.
The network's activities are policy and security-oriented, both because it can best contribute towards the goals of the EMP in these areas and because they correspond to the primary interests of its members. However, EuroMeSCo's themes for research and debate must also reflect its duty to reinforce confidence amongst its members and within the EMP. It therefore seeks to establish consensus over its research agenda and the fullest possible participation of member-institutes in the research and discussion process. The members of the network are drawn from the thirty-five member-countries of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership (EMP), the European Union's comprehensive policy for its relations with the Southern Mediterranean region.
OBREAL/EULARO is a network set up by 23 academic institutions and research centers in Europe and Latin America with the financial support of the European Commission.
OBREAL/EULARO, in keeping with the European Commission’s regional cooperation strategy for Latin America 2002-2006, has set as its main goal “to identify and develop all the opportunities offered by the partnership between the two regions to create a better understanding of the regional and sectoral problems which shape policymaking”.
To reach this goal, OBREAL/EULARO not only depends on the work of its members, it also aims to become a platform for the promotion of and meeting place for the dissemination and research activities carried out in both regions. Similarly, it aims to create synergies between policy formulators and decision makers, researchers and civil society actors, to reach a critical mass that can provide answers to the identified problems.
OBREAL/EULARO’s focus is on public policy making and its actions are directed towards the research community and political, economic and social actors.
